The residency in Gotland, Sweden, brought us together as a new group
with Agnes (ceramics artist) joining us, sharing experiences from our
different main disciplines, clay and dance. We engaged in interdisciplinary research, working extensively with improvisation and allowing the clay and the craft to influence our movements and creative process. Being close to
nature deepened our connection to the material, moving on the stones
our clay once came from. We found a deeper understanding of which
direction our work is heading towards when exploring themes of identity
and how the people and events in our lives have shaped us. We also visited
local clay artists on the island, which gave us new perspectives, blending
movement and the feel of clay and inspire our creative process.
